Common questions

Is this scan really free?

Yes — running a scan costs nothing and doesn't require a credit card. Each visitor gets a limited number of free scans per day; after that, you'll need to come back tomorrow.

Which sites do you check?

18 major data-broker and people-search sites — sites that publish profiles compiled from public records. We don't list every site here since the exact list can change, but your full report names each one where we found a match.

What if I find someone else's info instead of mine?

Searches are based on name matching, so results can include other people who happen to share your name (namesakes) — especially common last names. We flag these separately and clearly as unconfirmed, rather than mixing them in with confirmed matches.

Can you remove my info for me?

This scan only shows where your information appears. It's not a background check and removes nothing automatically. Each site in your report comes with a guide on how to request removal yourself. If you'd rather have it done for you, see Data Broker Removal. Privacy Monitoring re-checks the sites afterwards.

Does it cost anything to have you remove my listings?

The scan is free. Our removal services are no-removal, no-fee: you're invoiced only once we achieve the removal defined in your Service Agreement. Privacy Monitoring is billed as a recurring subscription. The billing period and terms are agreed during your assessment.
