Why a removed listing can come back
Data brokers build profiles from public records and other data sources, and they keep receiving new records.
Spokeo's opt-out page says your information may reappear on Spokeo in the future without notice, because it continually receives new and updated public records, and it asks you to check regularly for additional listings.
PeopleFinders says the same: it regularly receives new public records, so your information may appear again, and it recommends refreshing your opt-out request from time to time.
AdvancedBackgroundChecks warns that your publicly available information may appear in its data products again in the future.
A removal on one broker doesn't reach the others. PeopleFinders, for example, says it can only control its own site and has no control over websites owned by someone else.

Common questions
If my data was already removed once, why does it need ongoing monitoring?
Several brokers say on their own opt-out pages that removed information can appear again. Spokeo says your information may reappear without notice because it continually receives new public records, and AdvancedBackgroundChecks says your publicly available information may appear in its data products again in the future. Monitoring is how a returned listing gets noticed.
How often do you check?
How often we re-scan is set in your plan. Whenever a new listing is found, you're told what was found and where.
What happens when new exposure is found?
We file a new removal request for that listing the same way we handled the original exposure, and let you know what was found and where.
Is this the same as the initial data broker removal service?
No. Data Broker Removal is the first pass: mapping and clearing what's currently listed. Monitoring starts after that and looks for new listings over time.
Does California's DROP replace ongoing monitoring?
Not on its own. DROP lets a California resident send one deletion request to the data brokers registered in California, and since August 1, 2026 those brokers must process it at least every 45 days. It only covers California residents and registered brokers, so sites outside that list still need their own removal requests.
How is Privacy Monitoring billed?
Privacy Monitoring is billed as a recurring subscription. The billing period and terms are agreed during your assessment.
