How to Remove Your Information from PeopleFinders

PeopleFinders.com is a public-records search site that publishes profiles compiled from public records.
How to remove yourself
These steps follow PeopleFinders's own Right to Opt-Out page, checked in October 2026. PeopleFinders states: "We respect those decisions, and make it easy to remove your information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."

Request the removal form
On PeopleFinders's Right to Opt-Out page (peoplefinders.com/opt-out), enter your name and email, choose "The subject of the request," tick the authorization box, complete the reCAPTCHA and press Send Request.

Click the link in your email
PeopleFinders emails you a link to the removal form. It may take a while to arrive, and if you wait more than 24 hours to click it, you need to request a new one.

Fill in the Record Suppression Form
Enter the details that match the record you want removed. First name, last name, street address, city and state are required. Leave out special characters, so "James Brown, Jr." becomes "Brown Jr" in the last name field. You can't edit the form after you submit it.

Check for the confirmation
Tick the certification box, complete the reCAPTCHA and press Submit. You get a confirmation page and a confirmation email, and PeopleFinders says to allow 3 days for the record to be fully removed.
The form's other fields are optional: middle name, email, phone number and date of birth. PeopleFinders says that omitting or inaccurate details only hinders the process.
Notice: PeopleFinders usually isn't the only place this kind of information about you shows up — the same details often turn up on other data-broker and people-search sites too. A free, confidential check can show you where else your name is listed.
What PeopleFinders won't do
PeopleFinders's help center states the limits of its own opt-out: "We value your privacy and, upon request, can block your records from being shown on PeopleFinders.com from databases we control," and separately: "We are unable to remove any information about you from databases operated by third parties."
In practice, that means a completed PeopleFinders opt-out only clears PeopleFinders — any of the affiliated or unrelated sites carrying similar public-record data need their own separate removal request.
PeopleFinders's opt-out page adds that it regularly receives new public records, so your information may appear again, and it recommends refreshing your opt-out request from time to time.

Common questions
Can I opt out of PeopleFinders by mail or fax?
No — PeopleFinders's own help center states directly that they "do not accept opt out requests via fax or mail." The accepted paths are the free opt-out form at peoplefinders.com/opt-out or a phone call to (800) 718-8997; either way, you'll need to confirm the request by clicking the link PeopleFinders emails you afterward.
Does PeopleFinders charge a fee to opt out?
No. PeopleFinders's Do Not Sell page says both of its options, the opt-out and its identity monitoring, are completely free, with no trials or payment required. It also says it makes it "easy to remove your information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." Paid subscriptions are a separate product from the opt-out.
Will opting out of PeopleFinders remove me from other sites too?
No. PeopleFinders says it can only control the visibility of your public records on its own site and has no control over websites owned by someone else. Each site holding your data needs its own opt-out.
How long does a PeopleFinders opt-out take?
PeopleFinders says to allow 3 days for your record to be fully removed from its site. You'll see a confirmation page and get a confirmation email once your request is received.
What does the PeopleFinders opt-out form ask for?
First and last name, street address, city and state are required. Middle name, email, phone number and date of birth are optional. PeopleFinders says leaving details out or giving wrong ones only hinders the process, that it won't use the information for anything other than your request, and that you can't change it after you submit.
Will my PeopleFinders listing come back after I opt out?
It can. PeopleFinders says it regularly receives new public records, so your publicly available information may appear in its products again. It recommends refreshing your opt-out request from time to time. It also says the opt-out doesn't remove data from its original source.
Can someone else submit my PeopleFinders opt-out for me?
Yes. The form has an option for an authorized agent. The link goes to the agent's email, and confirmation of processing goes to both the agent's and your email. The agent has to certify that they're authorized to act for you.
Do I pay if my listing isn't removed?
Opting out yourself is free. Our removal services are no-removal, no-fee: you're invoiced only once we achieve the removal defined in your Service Agreement. Search suppression is billed for the work performed.
