Can I get a negative RateMDs rating removed just because I disagree with it?
No. RateMDs removes ratings that violate its Terms of Use. It says it can't verify a patient's description of a private interaction or their subjective experience, and it doesn't remove a review solely because a user claims it's subjectively unfair.
What if the rating names a staff member or shares contact information?
RateMDs flags privacy violations, such as phone numbers, email addresses or staff members mentioned by name. Flag the rating and explain exactly what was disclosed.
What if the rating isn't from a real patient of mine?
RateMDs may remove ratings that are hearsay, describe another patient's experience, or don't reflect a personal medical experience. Ratings of court-appointed assessments and Independent Medical Examinations, such as workers' compensation, insurance, disability or personal injury assessments, may also be removed because they don't involve a doctor-patient relationship.
Can I pay RateMDs to remove or edit a rating?
No. RateMDs says no provider or staff member can pay to edit, delete, hide or manipulate ratings in any way, and that it doesn't accept fees for rating removal. Ratings are removed only if they violate its Terms of Use.
Can I respond to a rating?
Yes. A provider can claim their profile for free and post a response to any review. Providers with a Rating Concierge subscription also get instant notifications and a 7-day preview window, which can delay publication by up to 7 days.
