What qualifies for removal
Under the Vitals.com Reviews Guidelines, a review must not:
- Based on what the reviewer heard from someone else, not their own experience
- Contains personally identifiable, confidential or privileged information
- Contains symptoms, medical diagnosis, prescriptions or other health details
- Is not personal opinion or true and accurate factual statements
- Is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous or hateful
- Includes advertisements or solicitations
- Is spam or content that significantly detracts from users' experience of the site
- Violates the privacy, publicity, intellectual property or other rights of anyone
Vitals reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove reviews that don't meet these guidelines or its Terms of Use.

Check whether the review breaks a specific point of the Vitals.com Reviews Guidelines.

Submit a Support Request
Open the Support Request form at vitals.com/feedback, choose the category Patient Reviews, and describe the issue as specifically as possible. The form also asks for the provider's full name, facility, phone number and email address.

Wait for Customer Support to verify
Vitals says a member of its Customer Support team verifies the request and may reach out to you.

If the review stays
A review that stays within the guidelines remains published, and Vitals decides in its sole discretion which reviews to remove.

Which Vitals reviews can be removed?
Vitals' Review Guidelines list what a review must not contain: information heard from someone else rather than your own experience, personally identifiable or confidential information, medical or health details, statements that are not personal opinion or true and accurate facts, unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous or hateful content, advertisements or solicitations, spam, and violations of anyone's privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights.
Can a review be removed just because it is negative?
No. The guidelines allow a personal opinion of the provider, so a negative review that is the reviewer's own opinion or a true and accurate factual statement is within them.
Does Vitals edit review comments?
No. Vitals says it does not edit comments or rating selections. It reserves the right to remove from public posting any comments it deems offensive, malicious, inappropriate, sexually explicit in nature, or not made in good faith. The Review Guidelines add that Vitals decides in its sole discretion.
Why do reviews sometimes disappear from Vitals?
Vitals says it now displays only moderated patient reviews, so reviews submitted before that change may no longer be shown.
How often can someone rate the same doctor?
Once a month. Vitals limits the frequency of ratings so that repeated reviews by the same individual don't distort rating selections.
Can I remove my own listing from Vitals?
Vitals says it lists all actively licensed physicians in the United States, compiled from public records, and that it cannot remove or suppress entries on request. A provider can ask Vitals to correct an outdated or incorrect listing.
Do I pay if the review isn't removed?
