How to Remove Your Information from US Search
US Search has its own contact page and privacy policy, but the record behind your listing is processed through the same PeopleConnect suppression system as its sister sites.

What is US Search
US Search is a people-search and background-check site whose own privacy policy names its owner directly: "the information processing practices of Intelius, LLC, the owner of US Search." That makes US Search part of the same PeopleConnect, Inc. family as Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Classmates, ZabaSearch, and OmniWatch.
How to remove yourself
US Search keeps its own contact channels, but removal runs through PeopleConnect's Suppression Center, which covers US Search. These steps follow that tool, checked in October 2026.

Start with your email
Open the Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us, enter your email, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and click the verification link emailed to you. The tool is free.

Enter your date of birth
Enter your birthdate (MM/DD/YYYY) and tick the box confirming it is correct. PeopleConnect warns that once it's saved, it can't be changed. It says the birthdate is used to match the right records to you.

Enter your legal name
Enter your first, middle and last name and confirm it is your legal name. You can add other legal or informal names you've used. PeopleConnect uses your names together with your birthdate to find records about you.

Select your matching record
Choose the record that describes you. Each one lists locations, partly hidden email addresses and partly hidden phone numbers. If none is you, PeopleConnect says the record may be missing or incorrect, or may already have been suppressed by someone using a different email, and points you to its identity editor.

Verify your identity
Pick one of the phone numbers or email addresses on the record that you control. PeopleConnect uses it to make sure you are the person in the record. If you can't verify this way, it says to contact its customer care team.
US Search also lists its own direct contact points in its privacy policy: email [email protected], phone (888) 712-0108 (Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm PT), or by mail to US Search, Attn: Privacy, 2261 Market Street, STE 46167, San Francisco, CA 94114.

Notice: US Search usually isn't the only place this kind of information about you shows up — the same details often turn up on other data-broker and people-search sites too. There's a free way to check the rest rather than searching each site individually.
Why canceling a subscription isn't enough
US Search's own privacy policy separates "Account Deactivation" — done through your account's membership settings — from privacy and opt-out requests, which are handled through its Privacy Center instead. That's a first-party confirmation that canceling a paid subscription only stops billing; it does not take your listing down.
In 2010, the FTC alleged that US Search's paid "PrivacyLock" service, sold since June 2009 to "lock" records, did not stop a person from appearing as an associate on someone else's record, in reverse searches or in real-estate records, and did not work after an address change. US Search settled the charges with refunds and a bar on misrepresenting such services; a consent agreement isn't an admission of a violation.
For US Search, as for the rest of the PeopleConnect family, only a completed suppression request takes a listing down. The Suppression Center doesn't say whether suppressed listings can come back, so search your name again after the request has been processed.

Who owns US Search?
US Search's own privacy policy states it is owned by Intelius, LLC, which is itself part of the PeopleConnect, Inc. family — the same group behind TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, Classmates, ZabaSearch, and OmniWatch. PeopleConnect's Suppression Center covers US Search, Intelius, TruthFinder and InstantCheckmate, but says it doesn't apply to Classmates.com.
If I cancel my US Search membership, does that remove my listing?
No. US Search's own privacy policy treats "Account Deactivation" — done through your account's membership settings — as separate from privacy and opt-out requests, which go through its Privacy Center instead. Canceling a paid subscription only stops billing; it doesn't take your listing down. Only a completed suppression request through the shared PeopleConnect portal actually removes the record.
Does US Search have its own removal page, or is it the same as Intelius?
US Search lists its own contact details ([email protected] and a dedicated phone line) and links to a Privacy Center on its own domain. The removal request itself goes through PeopleConnect's Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us, the same tool used for Intelius, TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate.
What response time does PeopleConnect report?
PeopleConnect's own California-mandated disclosure shows a median response time of under 1 day for deletion requests and under 7 days for correction requests.
Does suppression remove all of my information from US Search?
No. According to the Suppression Center, suppressing your report means a report with your information won't be provided when someone searches you by name on those sites. It says this doesn't affect whether the information is available from other sources, and your details may still appear in some features, such as phone, address or email reports. If you still see data about you after using the tool, it tells you to contact PeopleConnect.
Do I pay if my listing isn't removed?
Opting out yourself is free. Our removal services are no-removal, no-fee: you're invoiced only once we achieve the removal defined in your Service Agreement. Search suppression is billed for the work performed.
